Yes. In Arizona, LUCHA registered over 20,000 new voters for the 2020 election. Joe Biden won Arizona by 10,457 votes.

All our grassroots groups have demonstrated a history of excellence, strong leadership, sound financial management, and a proven track record of expanding the Democratic voter base. We vet our groups through extensive research and cross referencing with sister organizations like Movement Voter Project, Airlift, Nope and Walk the Walk. We ask a few fundamental questions of our groups:

· Do they come from the communities they serve?

· Do they focus on the under-served, underrepresented and low-propensity voters in communities of color?

· Is there an aggressive outreach to women and young people?

· Have they demonstrated success in registering and turning out new voters?

· Do they coordinate with other grassroots groups to build a strong progressive network?

We support giving money to candidates (and many of us do) but we think that the best bang-for-your-buck and the most effective way to win elections is to increase the democratic voter base and push turnout. Nobody does this better than grassroots groups that are part of their community. When you give to a candidate a lot of your money is going to pricey political consultants and TV ads.

Year-round giving is the lifeblood of these grassroots groups. They rely on this income to keep the lights on, pay local canvassers, and support their small staff. They don’t just appear at election time, they are part of their communities year round.

Unfortunately you probably will but we’re trying to make this simple for folks who want to do something. We’ve instructed our groups to NOT solicit our donors directly. Our advice is to unsubscribe from all solicitations. It’s easy to hit “unsubscribe” when you know you’ve already given. It’s even easier if you make a monthly donation.

It all makes a difference. There are millions of us out there trying to gather support to win in 2024. It all adds up and no amount is too small.
